The Power of The Pen and the Power of the Gun

Perhaps some of us have heard the phrase – the power of the pen is mightier than the power of the sword. In certain instances, the phrase is also read or written as – the pen is mightier than the sword.

This phrase means -that the power of the intellect is mightier than the oppressive power of the rulers.

Nowadays, the phrase: ‘The Power of The Pen is mightier than the Power of the Gun’ is more appropriate. In general this phrase is appropriate for Pakistan.

However, in some instances we might read the phrase as The Power of The Chalk is Mightier than the Power of the Gun: See this picture which I got from flickr below:
