Sex, Lies and Videotape: Scandals and Our Hypocrisy
I am still pondering Steven Gan’s Sex, lies and videotape editorial in Malaysiakini.
This time it is about another issue.
So, early this year, Malaysians are rocked by Dr Chua Soi Lek resignation. Many show disbelief and many others (especially the opposition supporters) say that this is just another example of the so called habits of a corrupt government. This view is further entrenched when Chua Soi Lek said that he is not the first or the last politician to do such thing (i.e. to have a scandal). Of course he may be the first to be busted.
Just to think about it. We are all hypocrites. When someone in public office happens to be caught with a girl-friend, we all make a lot of noise.
But politicians are also humans.
Actually we are collectively guilty because we like to read about scandals. And in today’s digital technology age, we also like to see those scandals in DVD and other electronic devices.
In other words, we are guilty of voyeurism.
So, ladies and gentlemen, do you like to see people making love.
It happens that I have some pictures that may depict some of the first steps to make love. These pictures are taken from Ragalahari from the Brahmanandam Drama Company gallery.
Do enjoy them….
If you enjoy them, there are more pictures. Just click the links besides the picture credits and you will see much more.
Of course, this is not the real thing… but it is close enough to illustrate the subject matter of this post.
Chua Soi Lek may be guilty due to his scandal. But we may be guilty because we like to read, discuss and highlight news about his scandal.
