Tibet – UNGA Resolution 1723 (XIV)

Remember the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1723 of 1961.. on the issue of Tibet…

Mmm… I wonder why not much (or many) people in Project Petaling Street are interested in Tibet. Of course there are some but not as much as what I see on the issue of Burma…

The Tibetans have suffered so much under the Chinese… In fact, the Chinese govt in Beijing are cruel oppressors of many other minorities in their own country…if there is a more clearer example of ethnic cleansing, then look no further than the situation in many of China’s so called autonomous provinces… yea the word “so called” … means these provinces are not in reality truly autonomous!

Perhaps Malaysians should remember that East Turkestan (or Turkestan) too is under Chinese oppression… their own language, the Uyghur are under threat…

Well… just on the side note – I wonder what is DAP and Barisan Rakyat’s view on this issue? Of course we can expcet the UMNO led Barisan Nasional govt to cave in to Chinese pressure – just like on this issue – Malaysia Cancels Show at China Request. (This is about Falun Gong though).

It is unfortunate that the Chinese govt are arrogant with their new so-called economic might. And it is unfortunate that many govts especially in South East Asia (and even here in Australia) are too “weak” to stand up in defence of the Tibetans and for other oppressed minorities in China.

Well, I suppose it is up to the people to show their support…
